Evidence synthesis and critical appraisal of evidence are two vital skill sets of a competent healthcare leader. This week at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford we explored how to consider evidence and the critical role of systematic reviews in evidence synthesis. Developing a toolkit to critically appraise systemic reviews and asking the right questions to search for the presence or absence of evidence allow us to apply an evidence based practice lens to out healthcare leadership. Exploring how we explore the wider ecosystem of evidence based practice considering values was fascinating. Considering the evidence practice gap and implementation science builds on our ongoing learning journey throughout the healthcare leadership journey so far. Big thanks to Kamal R. Mahtani and David Nunan for their patient and commited teaching.
