Giorgio Belluardo

Coordinator of the Renewable Energy Laboratory Group at Eurac Research

Giorgio Belluardo is a researcher at Eurac Research, an institute based in Bolzano, South Tyrol, Italy. He works at the Institute for Renewable Energy, where he serves as the Coordinator of the Renewable Energy Laboratory Group.13 Belluardo's research focuses on photovoltaic (PV) systems, particularly in areas related to:

  1. Solar radiation modeling and measurement
  2. PV system performance analysis
  3. Uncertainties in PV system yield predictions

He has contributed to international research projects, including work with the International Energy Agency's Photovoltaic Power Systems Programme (IEA PVPS). Specifically, Belluardo co-authored a report on "Uncertainties in PV System Yield Predictions and Assessments" as part of IEA PVPS Task 13.3

In addition to his work on PV systems, Belluardo has also conducted research on estimating solar radiation in alpine environments. He co-authored a study published in the journal Atmosphere in 2018 titled "Estimating Hourly Beam and Diffuse Solar Radiation in an Alpine Valley: A Critical Assessment of Decomposition Models".2
