Highlights
I've written about the restaurant industry for years, and whenever accessibility comes up, there's a bit of tension. While that's still there, I was pleasantly surprised to find restaurants, vendors, and accessibility advocates working together towards a common goal—more comfortable and accessible restaurants for all diners.
Thanks for the assignment, Sam Oches. Thanks for your insight and thoughts, Matt Ater of Vispero®, Kim Knackstedt of Unlock Access, LLC, and Peter Slatin of The Slatin Group. And thank you, Emily MacKinnon of Starbucks, for "nerding out" with me about Starbucks’ first Inclusive Spaces location. I'll be checking out the store in person in a few weeks.
(Posting after a little LinkedIn hiatus.)
Yesterday was my last day at Business Insider. I’m incredibly proud of the team I built and the stories I edited and wrote over the past four years. And I’m so thankful to the people I’ve met along the way. The outpouring of support from current and former colleagues has moved me. ❤️
I’m taking a beat to decompress. But I hope to continue combining writing and editing with my love for the restaurant and retail space. I’ll never tire of studying why people buy, order, and eat what they do.
Please get in touch if you have a gig or assignment that might be a good fit for me.
