Super fun day today thanks to our incredible teams in the Mailroom and Meeting Services who hosted a Reader’s Delight book cafe pop up just in time for the holidays. 📚 ☕️
For years one of my favorite events has been Take Your Children to Work Day. This year I was fortunate enough to participate in Take Your Work to Children day which inverts the original concept and gives employees the opportunity to introduce the wonderful world of Publishing to children in the classroom. I’m beyond grateful to Emilia Sowersby Julia Sooy and Joy Peskin for hosting Macmillan’s Take Your Work to Children’s Day and all the prep, resources, and passion for the initiative they poured into it. Thanks to this awesome trio and along with the best co-teacher Jenifer David, we were able to meet the incredible 2nd graders that are part of Start Lighthouse’s Port Morris Literacy Hub in the Bronx. We were inspired by their love of books and by the amazing work Start Lighthouse is doing. Cannot wait for next year!
