🎤Authentic Allyship - The only thing worse than no #allyship, is performative allyship. Why? Because the ally stands to gain more from the exercise than the women they are advocating for.
👉How to be an #authentic ally? Before you do something, ask yourself if your heart is in the right place. If you're not sure, ask a woman in your life, and make sure it is a woman with whom you share a level/equal power dynamic so they don't have to be afraid of telling you the truth.
🎤Allyship Among Women - Women are not a monolith. Our layered identities impact where we are on the inequality spectrum, and some women are much further behind than others.
👉How to be a woman and an ally at the same time? Ask yourself if you want #equality for #all women... or just for women who are like you. If it's the former (and I hope it is!) consider giving your time to a women's organisation that deals with issues that you might not face. Use your platform to amplify women that are more marginalized than you. Pass that speakership opportunity to a woman who is much less represented in public space than you are.
