How much will the global construction industry be worth by 2037?
This was the question posed to Graham Robinson, Global Infrastructure and Construction Lead, Oxford Economics, and me in our recent discussion on where future growth will come from. 📈 As many construction markets are struggling with macro-economic issues, a recent study from Global Construction Futures, shows us that the future is bright. Read on to find out more about the global markets responsible for construction output, where this growth is expected to come from, and what is driving it. https://lnkd.in/g_J-2PQ8
Our recent summer surveys suggest a gloomy lack of confidence is reflected in the construction market: ➡ Two thirds of contractors say they have little or no confidence in the government making decisions that positively impact the built environment. ➡The market is still suffering from labour shortages and the skills gap. ➡ 95% of contractors or members of their supply chain have declined a tender in the last quarter, up from 78 per cent in our spring survey. But, is digital and the further integration of AI into construction where a more positive future lies? Will the investment in people, professionalism and technology be essential to surviving what comes next?
