I had the honor of working for Apple a total of almost two decades, over two terms.
It changed me… profoundly.
I witnessed Apple before Steve came back. It was a period so dark that Wired Magazine sent out an urgent plea on their cover… an image of the Apple logo bearing a crown of thorns… and one single word: “PRAY”
I then watched what can happen when the right person, with the right vision, drive and leadership steps in and simply inspires people to “Think Different”.
Steve wasn’t normal… he was one of “The Misfits, The Rebels, The Round Pegs in the Square Holes”… Because he changed things by inspiring us to believe we could change the world.
It worked.
Steve inspired us to believe a company could thrive at the intersection of technology and humanity and he instilled the importance of doing things the right way, for the right reason, into our hearts.
I love the tribute Apple posted today, on the 10th Anniversary of Steve’s passing. Watch the video… but also be sure to read the statement from the Jobs Family. It’s worth it.
