In the U.S. intelligence community, a Red Cell team refers to a group of experts generally brought from outside (other industries/agencies) to challenge conventional thinking and propose novel solutions to the most pressing and challenging complex problems

When I founded Red Cell Partners at the end of 2020, we looked a lot different than we do today, but our mission remains the same: to build and scale novel technologies to solve the most critical issues facing our country.

The US military has an asymmetric ability to move forces anywhere around the globe at will. But contemporary events – from pandemics and war to natural disasters – have exposed vulnerabilities in our global supply chains that, if not addressed, will have dire consequences for our Nation’s military and commercial operations.

Two years ago, these challenges led Chief of Air Mobility Command Gen. Mike Minihan to ask us if, with the use of AI, we could help the United States Air Force make planning and moving manpower materiel and medicine in contested environments easier and faster. Ultimately we said yes Yisroel Brumer Paul Selva and I announced the launch of Red Cell’s second incubation DEFCON AI

In just two short years, DEFCON has closed and executed on over $15 million+ in contracts with the Air Force, delivered its decision-support Ai platform to the Air Force’s Air Mobility Command deployed the prototype to DoD IL6 and this week we announced our $44 million seed round, led by Bessemer Venture Partners with Fifth Growth Fund and, proudly, Red Cell. A huge Welcome to Christopher Wan Ray O. Johnson

From the beginning, we believed in DEFCON’s ability to develop powerful software (the DoD still spends less than 1% of it’s budget on software today) that would augment the DoD’s ability to make decisions and plan for complex, real-world scenarios, but their success over such a short time frame is a testament to two things 1) the talent and relentless drive of the DEFCON team and 2) the tremendously powerful incubation engine that we have built at Red Cell.

At Red Cell, we enable companies like DEFCON to focus on building by optimizing the company-creation process. We don’t only help them unlock access to capital; we give our incubations the ability to leverage a world-class team of advisors and domain experts to accelerate each company’s time to market. From day one, DEFCON has had unfettered access to incredible resources such as Mark T. Esper, Ph.D. Bill Lescher General Gus Perna and countless others. Redcell surrounded them with all the resources they needed so they could focus 100% on building technology that matters and that will have a profound impact on how both military and commercial entities prepare for and overcome future challenges.

A heartfelt congratulations to DEFCON AI, on a remarkable two years and, to our extraordinary team and incredible partners who every day help make our Red Cell mission a reality. Thank you, this is just truly the beginning #ai

From the first American loss of life via an Iranian proxy drone to now hundreds of drones volleyed into Israel proper. This events coupled with the events in Ukraine show why a dire red energy solution is so critical

At some point we can no longer afford to shoot $25-50k dollar drones out of the sky with $350k-$4m. But with a high power microwave like the one Epirus delivered earlier this year to our customer you can take out hundreds of drones for less than a few dollars
