Executive Director, Dunin-Deshpande Queen's Innovation Centre at Queen's University

Greg Bavington is the Executive Director of the Dunin-Deshpande Queen's Innovation Centre (DDQIC) at Queen's University, a role he has held since November 2012. He also serves as a Special Advisor to the Provost on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Greg graduated from Queen’s University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer. His career spans over 25 years in entrepreneurship and engineering, including co-founding and leading companies in environmental solutions and medical devices, as well as working on high-profile engineering projects like the English Channel Tunnel and SkyDome roof.123

Greg has served as an adjunct lecturer across three faculties at Queen's University and is actively involved in governance, having been an elected member of Queen’s University Council and the Engineering Society Board of Directors. He also serves on the boards of several private companies, income trusts, trade associations, and non-profits. Outside of his professional life, Greg is an avid sailor, cyclist, hockey coach, and a proud husband and father of two.12
