Greg Caplan

Co-founder and CEO at Spot Meetings

Greg Caplan is the co-founder and CEO of Spot Meetings, a platform designed to facilitate walking meetings and enhance remote work dynamics. Prior to this role, he was the founder and CEO of Remote Year, a program that allows individuals to travel while working remotely. The concept for Remote Year emerged from Caplan's own experiences struggling to coordinate travel with friends who had rigid work schedules.12

Caplan's entrepreneurial journey includes founding the fashion company oBaz, which was acquired by Groupon, where he worked until 2014. He has also served as the interim Chief Marketing Officer for Cameo since May 2020.12 He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.1

At Spot Meetings, Caplan aims to modernize the meeting experience by creating an audio-first platform that minimizes the reliance on video conferencing tools like Zoom, addressing issues such as video fatigue among remote workers.2
