Greg Curtis
Assistant General Counsel at Patagonia
Greg Curtis is an accomplished attorney and environmental advocate who has held several key positions at Patagonia. He served as Assistant General Counsel at Patagonia from June 2014 to April 2021.2 Following that, he became Deputy General Counsel from April 2021 to September 2022.2
Currently, Greg Curtis is the Executive Director of the Holdfast Collective, Patagonia's non-profit shareholder.3 In this role, he focuses on leveraging philanthropic strategies to combat climate change through political activity, lobbying, and grant-making.1
Curtis played a crucial role in guiding Patagonia through significant ownership changes and legal matters, particularly related to its status as a benefit corporation and B Corp certification. He was instrumental in various initiatives, including the launch of Long Root Ale, which reflects the company's commitment to sustainable agriculture.4
Before joining Patagonia, Curtis worked as in-house counsel for United Technologies and held positions at law firms such as WilmerHale and Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP.2 He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business/Managerial Economics and Modern American History from Brown University (1995-1999) and his Juris Doctor (JD) from The University of Connecticut School of Law (2001-2004).2
