Creative Job Seeking: The "Personal Showcase Platform"

Imagine a tool that allows job seekers to create a digital showcase, much like a Digital Sales Room, but tailored for personal branding. Sometimes, LinkedIn isn't enough, and you want to share more.

I am calling it the P͟e͟r͟s͟o͟n͟a͟l͟ ͟S͟h͟o͟w͟c͟a͟s͟e͟ ͟P͟l͟a͟t͟f͟o͟r͟m͟ (PSP), but I don't think it exists! It may, but for this article, I am not trying to build an app but rather help job seekers with clever ways to use freemium B2B platforms as an alternative to building a website. I found that in Aligned. Love it.

It's not their use case, so they might detest this post, but their digital sales room is really nice and easy to use. If you try this strategy, the best thing you can do is master it and then pull the product into the next org when you land a role.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗣𝗦𝗣:

👉Customizable Digital Space: Easily create a branded, professional-looking profile.

👉Multi-Media Portfolio: Upload resumes, project presentations, videos, and more.

👉Scheduling: Include scheduling tools for interviews.

👉Analytics Dashboard: Track engagement and refine your personal brand.

👉Integration Capabilities: LinkedIn, Google Workspace, Loom, Zoom, a lot of my favorites.

😍Set up in minutes vs hosting and building a website that takes hours.

𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀:

👉Stand out with an interactive experience beyond a traditional resume.

👉Showcase soft skills and tailor applications for different roles.

👉Keep your profile updated effortlessly.

𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀:

👉Gain a comprehensive view of candidates. Efficiently screen and engage with potential hires.

𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀:

👉Career changers 👉Fresh graduates 👉Freelancers 👉Executives can all leverage PSP to highlight their unique strengths and achievements.

This platform could revolutionize job seeking by making it more engaging, efficient, and equitable.

It levels the playing field, allowing everyone to present a professional, comprehensive view of their capabilities.

But for now, why not try it in your job search?!

What is the most rewarding thing you can hear later in your career?

“𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘐 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺.”

or

“𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦.“

Hearing those words was more fulfilling than any paycheck or title.

Here’s why:

→ It validates your efforts.

Knowing you’ve made a tangible difference in someone’s life is incredibly rewarding.

→ It builds a legacy.

Your influence extends beyond your immediate circle.

→ It touches lives you may never meet.

When you help one person succeed, they often go on to help others.

→ It creates a ripple effect.

→ Your impact multiplies.

→ It keeps you grounded.

Remembering where you started and how others helped you along the way is humbling.

So, how can you be that person for someone else?

→ Be generous with your time.

→ Share your knowledge and experiences openly.

→ Encourage and support those around you.

We've all had someone who believed in us when we doubted ourselves.

Let’s be that someone for others.

In the end - when the job and company are long gone, that relationship is what you have left.

Who has been your biggest supporter - Care to share?
