VP Research & Development chez Boston Metal

Guillaume Lambotte is a highly accomplished professional in the field of metallurgy and materials science. He currently serves as the VP of Research & Development at Boston Metal, a company working to revolutionize steel production through an innovative electrochemical process called molten oxide electrolysis (MOE).1

Lambotte holds a Ph.D. in Thermodynamics - Metallurgical Engineering from Université de Montréal - École Polytechnique de Montréal, as well as a Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the same institution. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science & Engineering from Ecole Européenne d'Ingénieurs en Génie des Matériaux.

Before his current role, Lambotte held positions as Chief Scientist and Senior Research Scientist at Boston Metal. His career also includes experience as a Research Associate at the University of Massachusetts and a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).1

At Boston Metal, Lambotte plays a crucial role in developing and scaling up the company's MOE technology, which aims to decarbonize steel production - one of the world's largest sources of CO2 emissions. He is passionate about creating sustainable solutions for the metal industry and has been instrumental in advancing Boston Metal's mission to transform how metals are made.12

Lambotte is known for his expertise in the MOE process and its potential applications beyond steel production. He has been involved in projects to recover high-value metals from mining waste and explore the use of MOE for producing other types of metals.12
