Big news! Our biggest competitor, Yandex, buys Delivery Club. The binding agreement was signed and deal closure will depend on Antimonopoly Service approval. This is definitely a historical event for Food Tech market in Russia and it is my second time as a company CEO (after Domino's IPO in 2017), where we turned-around a company with my team which was followed by sales of company. How did this happen? This is the result of tremendous transformation and growth of Delivery Club into being undisputed market leader. I took over Delivery Club CEO role before the creation of joint venture with Sberbank, the company was losing huge market share to Yandex. It needed a big turnaround. Some people advised me not to take the job saying: ''It's a career suicide''. I was excited at the challenge. I shared the same bold vision with Boris Dobrodeev (ex-Mail.ru CEO) about Delivery Club and shook hands with him - and never looked back. Thank you Boris! We created a one of the most disruptive management teams in Russia and attracted huge talent to the company. Allow me to list the achievements of this team (some of them tagged in this post): -Grew the sales from 1.9Million orders / month to +10Million and became Multi-billion $ business -Brought company to operational profit, from big losses to positive gross margins -Created the best consumer delivery service. Reduced delivery time from 45 minutes to 27 minutes with world class Operational Technologies -Created multiple successful new businesses: Became Top 5 E-Grocery player, entered digital Tips and became #2 in 6 months. Entered Last Mile delivery and became fastest delivery service in Russia. -Expanded to 300 cities, created tens of thousands of jobs for couriers and billions of Rubles for restaurants and groceries partners. -Created one of the coolest product in the market with delivery, take-away, DC Pro subscription. -Transformed Delivery Club from being a technology follower to Technology creator. I can't name everybody to show gratitude as the list is too big! I want to thank all our employees for their tremendous efforts, trust and support. I also want to thank Vladimir Kirienko (VK CEO) and Alexander Ayvazov (VK SVP) for their super-fair treatment and genuine concern for Delivery Club employees. The deal, if approved, will impact a lot of people and together with my leadership team and Yandex, we will do our best to enable a smooth transition with genuine concern for every person, courier and partner. While one chapter is being closed for Delivery Club, another chapter is opening together with Yandex. It will be exciting to see!
