Highlights
These last few weeks ahead the summer break are jam packed at Startup CFO. Our members have hectic schedules and it’s our role, as the leading Tech CFO community, to line up compelling opportunities to get everyone together.
Last week Peter Campbell delivered a brilliant and insightful fireside chat for our members, taking us through his incredible career journey as CFO at Mimecast. We learned what it takes to complete your diligence ahead of joining a Tech business in hyper growth, how to partner effectively with the founder and what it takes to to deliver on multiple funding rounds and a successful IPO.
It was a wonderful evening at the The Hoxton, with a really large group of us out to network and socialise. A huge thank you to Ledgy for supporting this particular event, we’re delighted to have had them as out sponsor for the last three years.
And this week, we’ll we have the annual rooftop summer party and next week a panel on bridging rounds. With our September events going live on the website in early July, our members are offered some of the most sought after L&D opportunities for CFOs in Tech and high growth.

We had, perhaps, the most memorable Startup CFO member event just ten days ago as the guests of McLaren Racing. This occasion brought together a group of Finance leaders for an afternoon of brilliant fun and a chance to understand what it takes to deliver at the very top for four decades.
In my role as cofounder of the leading Tech CFO community in the UK, I’ve delivered more than two hundred events to support the career journeys of CFOs in Tech businesses. However it takes a lot to top the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, in demonstrating absolute focus on achieving excellence as a team and the importance of calculated risk taking in any successful venture competing on a global stage.
We were looked after brilliantly for the whole of the day and many of our members showed their competitive spirit in the McLaren pit stop challenge. A huge thank you is owed to Airwallex who made this possible through their sponsorship with McLaren. This was a really fun and inspiring day out for all of us. I’m not able to tag everyone who made it along from our incredible CFO community, but just to name a few who made memorable contributions in the pit stop competition.
