Is it better to be a boss or an employee?
As someone who has been self-employed with my family for over 5 years now, I have been pondering if I should get back into the tech workforce with a career in software sales. I have recently received training and completed a course with certification in software sales, that taught multiple CRM's, lead generation, etc. I have always been had a hustler mentality and have always been hard working and goal oriented when it comes to work. There's no doubt in my mind that although there will be time to learn the process of sales in a new company and position, that eventually I'll find success.
Although being the boss is great because you have few or no one to answer to and your success and failures lie on you alone, you have to deal with the stresses of managing people and the business. Also you have limited time off which can affect mental health and family life, everything becomes an out of pocket expense, and you have to focus on multiple things at once. The stresses are endless and it leaves me to wonder is it worth it? Is it worth staying and not having to answer to anyone, or is better to just clock in and clock out? Any suggestions?
