Highlights
As an employee, I can think of no better way to close out #blackhistorymonth at Barclays Investment Bank than with a powerful and insightful conversation on leadership, business best practices and philanthropy with Chairman & CEO of Vista Equity Partners Robert F. Smith, an icon in the enterprise software and private equity community.
Many thanks and appreciation to Barclays, Richard Haworth, JF, to Toks Sotande-Peters, Irene Agyilirah and the BPRG leadership team for making the event such a success!
Two messages (out of many) that resonated strongly:
(1) Persistence creates opportunity. All it takes is one chance or experience to potentially alter your path in life.
(2) The most impactful form of philanthropy can actually be you contributing your time or domain expertise where it is most needed, no matter the frequency. Philanthropy is not just financial.
Great to see Christina Trotter in from London (Princeton University classmate & former coworker) and other peers across the Street at the 2nd annual Black Advocacy event sponsored by J.P. Morgan. Inspiring and insightful perspectives shared by Michael Brown and Nkonye Okoh Soetan (also Princeton!) both on gaining exposure to Wall Street and charting their own paths to success. Looking forward to the next one and way to go Christina on a great event! #wallstreet #creditrisk #trading #diversityandinclusion #barclays #princeton
