I'm thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of my book, Artificial Integrity, which will be released on October 29th. Pre-order your copy today!

If you’ve read any of my pieces on Forbes, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Knowledge at Wharton, INSEAD Knowledge, Duke Corporate Education, Harvard Business Review France, or The European Business Review, or if you've listened to any of the episodes of The Hamilton Mann Conversation, you know how deeply committed I am to ensuring AI upholds the best of humanity.

Hours and hours of work over years made this book possible. And yet, so much remains for contributing to this crucial conversation that builds the very fabric of the society we aim to leave for the next generations.

Warren Buffett once said, "In looking for people to hire, look for three qualities: integrity, intelligence, and energy. And if they don't have the first, the other two will kill you." This wisdom begs the question: as we begin to 'hire' powerful intelligent machines to perform tasks traditionally done by humans, how do we ensure they possess something akin to what we call integrity?

As we stand on the verge of Robotic Intelligence (RI), the advance of AI systems capable of exhibiting integrity over intelligence is a critical question that I believe will shape the course of human history.

Here’s to those eager to refuse to accept the status quo for AI trajectories and push for a world where technology serves all of us, not at the expense of us all, and not to the exclusion of a few.

In "Artificial Integrity," I invite you to engage in that conversation to create more integrity-led AI systems. I invite you to envision how AI could be a force for good in society, backed by research, innovation and the firm belief that what should be at the heart of all things computational is one thing: our humanity at its best.

Rather than AI that merely pursues ever-increasing productivity in our place, let us invest in AI that sharpens our prowess in getting better at tackling society’s toughest challenges, while ever reminding us to neither idealize it nor mistake its own place.

I hope the frameworks, examples, analyses, thoughts, guidelines you will discover in this book will be helpful in leading that change wherever you are leading it from, and that it adds to the strength and willingness so needed to change the course of what could end-up being unsecured, uncontrolled, unfair, uncredited, uncompensated and thus uncentered human AI developments.

Together, we can ensure that AI upholds that integrity. See you at work.

A big thank you to Wiley and to all the Thinkers50 members for their invaluable support, and a special thanks to Nilanjan Adhya, Emma Ruttkamp-Bloem, Dr. Seth Dobrin, Soumitra Dutta, David Edelman, Jean Ferré, John C. Havens, Dr. Luc JULIA, Michael Platt, Anand Rao, PhD, MBA, Sam Ransbotham, Noelle R., Scott Snyder, Brian Solis, Michael Wade and Dr. Cornelia C. Walther for their praise.

I am thrilled to announce the launch of the book "Driving Sustainable Innovation: How to do well by doing good," a collaborative effort with Thinkers50 and Project Management Institute’s Brightline Initiative, to which I am humbled to have contributed a chapter exploring the dual-edged nature of #AI in the context of #sustainability.

One of the key issues humanity has always faced, and still our biggest challenge today, is setting the right equilibrium with our environment; monitoring the limit that harm its integrity, thus improving our ability to moderate ourselves—moderate our use of the planet's resources, moderate the harm we inflict, and that inevitably fly right back to our human condition.

Meanwhile, you may have often heard about what AI can bring to help humanity achieve more: more growth, more productivity, more automation, more intelligence.

In the context of our century, where global temperatures have risen by 1.2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels (NASA et al.), while we are consuming resources at a rate equivalent to 1.7 Earths (aka Earth Overshoot Day), I believe the most critical area where AI can help is none of these "mores".

Yet largely ignored and underrated, a crucial role of AI should be to help us achieve more moderation; helping us prevent our blind addiction to the planet's resources.

And it starts by challenging the way we strive to advance AI, considering moderation in water consumption, energy use, and e-waste in AI development itself.

Honored to be pushing for progress in "Driving Sustainable Innovation" alongside top global thought leaders, experts, researchers and executives including, Pierre Le Manh, Emil Andersson, Alice Bolton, Joel Carboni, Marco Aurelio Cesarino, Edivandro Conforto, PhD., Jill Diffendal, Mark Esposito, PhD, Brian Evergreen, Christoph Hirnle, Faisal Hoque, Lavagnon Ika, Adam Job, PhD, Maïna K.
