I'm incredibly grateful to the UTD Seed Fund and Bryan Chambers for providing us students with an exceptional opportunity to dive into the vibrant world of venture capital. Throughout this transformative journey, we gained invaluable knowledge and skills, exploring every aspect of startup evaluation, deal memos, market research, and company valuation. The experience has truly broadened my perspective on the dynamic startup landscape and refined my ability to identify promising investment opportunities. 💼💡
After countless late nights and productive calls with my remarkable team, I'm immensely proud to share that our efforts have resulted in securing a Spring 2023 $25k grant for Liberty HPC. Conducting due diligence in person and meeting the staff of Liberty-HPC was a unique learning experience and helped us see the innovation coming together. I'm thrilled to have witness the visionary leadership of Lee Bratcher and Steve Kinard Jr. as they steer this company toward success. Wishing them the very best in their remarkable journey ahead! 🌟
I would also like to express my gratitude to Veena from NeuroRehab and Marcus from Duke AI for their active participation in our project. As a student passionate about building a career in medicine and biotechnology, I've always sought opportunities to research and build ideas in the medical device space. Through the Innovation and Entrepreneurship hackathon held by a collaboration between The University of Texas Medical Branch and Blackstone Launchpad, I had the opportunity to meet other inspirational entrepreneurs and physicians who've changed their passions, like mine, into reality. Thank you to massoud motamedi, Lanette Harris, and Daniel Jupiter for hosting this camp and bringing speakers with diverse experiences!
These speakers have helped me learn a lot, from the importance of building a wide variety of skills and establishing a strong internal and external ecosystem to understanding the importance of transparency and the power of team building. Most importantly, as someone in the early stages of her career, the speakers' emphasis on implementing long-term thinking in decision-making is what I look forward to applying in my journey.
It was a pleasure working with Nico Silva, LMSW, Aireona Armagon, Riya Shipurkar, and Anamika Ganwar to tackle the issue of Prosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) using our AI-integrated product, ProScopix. Taking all the lessons and inspiration from each of our panel of speakers, our team was more than excited to transform an idea into a potential solution, earning us second place at the hackathon. I am confident that I can take what I've learned at this camp forward in my career and empower the people from this camp through my future endeavors! #innovation #biotech #medicine #utmb #blackstone
