Hans Christensen

Hans Christensen, previously known as Hans Henrik Christensen, is the Vice President of Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) as of October 2024.3 He is responsible for Dtec and focuses on building Dubai's entrepreneurial ecosystem by gathering stakeholders, attracting foreign direct investment, and strengthening DSO's brand for innovation and knowledge.3
Christensen has a history of founding and operating businesses in the tech industry and is known for leading and creating high-performance teams.3 He possesses skills in areas such as ecosystem building, co-working space and freezone management, innovation, strategy, entrepreneurship, mentoring, and business development.3
In the past, Christensen was the Senior Director of Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus (Dtec), Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority.2 He led a team that managed the largest tech hub in the MENA region, housing over 1,000 tech startups from 75 countries within its coworking space.2 Dtec has contributed to creating jobs in the UAE and abroad and has attracted significant foreign direct investment to the local economy.2 Dtec's operations include coworking, acceleration and incubation, events, venture capital investments, corporate setup services, and corporate innovation.2
Christensen has also held the position of Chief Business Development Officer at Premium Food, a biotech company, where he managed the company's expansion.13 His responsibilities included setting up new manufacturing and office locations, defining the marketing mix, sales, and HR strategies, and partnering with organizations such as the UN, Capcade, and Shape Cities.3
Prior to his roles in Dubai, Christensen held positions at Deutsche Leasing AG and Macquarie Group in Germany.3 He also founded Garderos GmbH, a spin-off startup from Siemens in the WIFI space.3 Earlier in his career, he served as CEO of MEL Vilcagua in Ecuador, where he engineered a new factory and managed all aspects of the business.3
