Highlights
Serious observation. I’ve been working in Mexico the last 10 days.
I have not eaten the same food twice yet. And I’m only eating at largely vegan joints. I’m sure this is a minuscule fraction of Mexican cuisine I’m sampling.
Despite the large Mexican diaspora, why is authentic Mexican food in the U.S. so criminally under represented?
I’ve never found Birria, Enfrijoladas, Manchamantel or Gorditas. Also nopales, mamey, huitlacoche, sapodillas, zarzamora back in the States. And no tepache, tejate, atoles!
Despite being the food bowl of the U.S., most Mexican specialties never make it past the border.
I asked around and some of my work colleagues say several condiments are not allowed at scale per NAFTA/USMCTA laws.
Is this true?
As the final round of voting starts in India on Jun 1, I wanted to once again endorse a friend, mentor and fellow entrepreneur - Shashank Mani.
Shashank is an inspiration to all those who know him. But beyond that, he has chosen to follow his true purpose in service of his community, constituency and country. His constituency - Deoria, His state - Uttar Pradesh, and India will be better off for his service.
Here's wishing him on the next chapter of his illustrious career - hopefully as a member of the world's largest democratic Parliament.
