🤖 "AI does not hallucinate sometimes, it's hallucinating all the time." -

I just completed Massachusetts Institute of Technology course on AI implications for business strategy, and this quote from professor Jaakkola truly stuck with me.

Latest AI's capabilities are mindblowing - try using gpt for emotional support or life coaching, it will blow your mind - but we must remember: AI lacks consciousness. It's still a model predicting the next step based on its training data. This can occasionally lead to inexplicable results like GPT telling us that it is 100% sure that Strawberry contains 2 r's.

These hallucinations can lead us astray, potentially causing disastrous results. As we look to the future of AI, its reliability will be crucial for real-world impact.

To achieve this reliability, we need to implement guardrails such as rigorous vetting of training data accuracy, use of clear disclaimers, asking for explainability of reasoning, human oversight to verify AI outcomes, continuous monitoring, ...

The key question for AI's future is: Can we develop the right guardrails to trust AI's output confidently?

As businesses increasingly rely on AI, addressing this challenge becomes paramount. We must strike a balance between leveraging AI's potential and safeguarding against its limitations to maximize that positive impact and change the world for the good!

What other guardrails do you think are necessary for responsible AI implementation? Share your thoughts!

Today marks the spot. Last day at Winning by Design!

7 years ago, I embarked on a journey that would change my life forever. As a junior VP Sales at StoryMe, I was part of a team that was an unstoppable force at attracting new logos. However, I soon realized there was a huge gap - I didn't know how to make customers successful and recurring. A lucky encounter with Roelof Hengst led me to 🐶 Jacco van der Kooij, aka the Pep Guardiola of Recurring Revenue who had the craziest passion for making customers successful and the most fingerlicking GTM blueprints. His impact-first approach resonated with me, and I just knew I was in for an experience of a lifetime by following his lead.

What followed surpassed my expectations. My time at WbD was a wild journey in 3 distinct phases.

In the first phase, I learned how to become a sales trainer under the wings of Dan Smith. I gained confidence in myself and learned how to create a world-class coaching culture that would serve me well in the years to come. Shout-out to the amazing learners that brought their A-game in the training sessions.

In the second phase, my focus shifted to Revenue Architecture, where I was fortunate to work under the mentorship of Andy Farquharson and 🐶 Jacco van der Kooij for some of the most admirable tech companies in the business such as Meta, Adobe, Deepki, Evotix, Fudura, Rydoo, Showpad, Teamleader, Talkwalker, GoodHabitz, Sana, SmartRecruiters, GoCardless, Codility, SHERPANY, AppsFlyer, Katana Cloud Inventory, CM.com, FreeAgent, MINT and many others. My heart goes out to all the amazing sales pros I had the chance to work for and learn the freshest GTM insights from.

In the third phase, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Dave Boyce and Dominique Levin to centralize and lead a team of 20 Revenue Architects, who each had their own unique way of delivering projects. I learned how to build a community, create common ways of working, develop the concept of Impact Sprints, and develop QA processes and feedback loops to continuously improve the impact of our work. It was a challenging but rewarding experience with the most amazing human beings.

Much like 7 years ago, I recently started to feel a lurking gap in my skillset again. The world is changing rapidly, and I believe we need to evolve to keep pace. We're seeing firsthand how AI is transforming the industry. Within a year or two, much of the work sales pros do will be transformed, replaced or improved by AI. This realization has prompted me to take a new path, one that will allow me to immerse myself fully in AI and understand its possibilities and limitations.

I'm excited to embark on this new adventure, to learn how to tame the beast that is AI, and to use it to do good in the world. It's a daunting task, but I'm ready for the challenge. Stay tuned for more details about my next steps.
