The challenge today at the workplace is;
How do I go from a CC: to To:
And the biggest fear is that I don’t fall into Bcc:
The Inbox is the battlefield.
The Bhagvad Gita talks about how to win another battlefield. About its rules and about its truth.
We need transpiling of this philosophy, of this runbook for the modern technology workplace battlefields.
And it is important that we approach these new age battlefields with utmost care and reflection.
In these battlefields are being forged a new world order. One where we spend more time in digital space. A third basis vector in the physical space and time coordinate system.
We inhabit digital spaces that now occupy a majority of our attention. These digital spaces are no longer artefacts of nature like our physical environments are.
We see a tree swaying in the wind. We see wounds with blood. Our physical world exerts an immediate drawing of attention of all our senses.
But gradually only one sense is being systematically influenced by entities that are grabbing more and more of this one sense. Through means of social media, AI and monetary policies.
Making it impossible to exist if one doesn’t earn. Making it impossible to exist if one doesn’t use an online digital realm. Making it impossible to exist purely in the physical world.
Imagine we live in a world where I cannot talk to my brother thousands of miles away without going through a carrier that can listen to my conversation.
Yes, it’s all encrypted etc. But nevertheless, an entity I was born with as a sibling can only exist for me today through means of a technology that I need.
Large parts of my current existence only can exist on platforms that are digital in nature and controlled by other people.
So it is very critical that we bring philosophical questions to the table. Discussion of ethics and inclusivity. Discussion of fairness and justice. And we must keep these discussions rooted in the physical world.
That is what the physical world teaches us. Justice in the natural law. Principles that govern the planet and the millions of organisms existing on it.
We face a similar predicament to that of Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
But today its the electric maze of sentient silicon and sun sucking energy fields. Trillions of FLOPs of smashing numbers to smuggling datasets through shadow fibers.
A new philosophy is needed. #battlefield
