Hayes Raffle is an accomplished product designer and inventor with a strong focus on hybrid physical/digital objects that enhance learning, creativity, and communication.

Currently, he holds the position of Senior Staff Designer at Google's Learning and Education team and is an Edmund Hillary Fellow working on innovative technologies for children's educational experiences.

Previously, Hayes played a pivotal role in Google's AR Devices program as the overall UX lead, contributing to the development of consumer AR and VR products like Google Daydream VR and Google Glass.

With a Ph.D. and M.S. in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT Media Lab and a B.A. in fine art from Yale, Hayes has a solid academic background.

His professional journey includes securing over 70 US utility and design patents for his inventions, as well as crafting more than 40 peer-reviewed academic publications on tangible media, learning technologies, and virtual/augmented reality.

Noteworthy projects include Topobo and ZOOB building systems, and the Jabberstamp sound drawing tool, which have had a significant impact on family communication and educational tools for children.

Throughout his career, Hayes's work has garnered attention globally, with features in prominent media outlets like CNN, The Wall Street Journal, and The NY Times, among others.

He has showcased his projects in various regions across Europe, Asia, and the United States, highlighting his contributions to the intersection of design, technology, and education.
