Highlights
Last week, I had a powerful conversation with a physician executive who shared a piece of wisdom that struck a chord with me: "Don't misinterpret speed bumps as stop signs."
When it comes to change management and leading transformation, this advice is particularly relevant. Change is rarely a smooth, straightforward path. We all encounter obstacles—those speed bumps that slow us down or make us question the direction we've chosen or - at worst - even our abilities.
But hitting a speed bump doesn’t mean you need to stop. It’s an opportunity to slow down, reassess, and reinforce the progress you’ve made before continuing forward. Sometimes, it might even mean taking a step back to ensure you’re on solid ground.
Change takes time, and pacing is key. Rushing through without considering the challenges can lead to bigger setbacks. But by embracing these bumps, we can grow, learn, and ultimately make more sustainable progress.
What are the speed bumps you've encountered? How did you navigate them without losing momentum?

🚨 Attention, recruiters and job seekers! 🚨
LinkedIn has introduced an important change that affects how staffing and recruiting companies post jobs. From now on, if you’re in the business of connecting talent with opportunities, any job posted by a staffing or recruiting firm must be promoted—i.e., no more free job postings for those using a Recruiter Lite account.
🔍 What Does This Mean? Increased Costs: For smaller recruitment firms, this means a shift in strategy. With the need to promote job posts, they're likely going to be more selective about which roles they prioritize and promote. It also means many firms will focus first on turning to their trusted sources to recommend prospective candidates before posting job listings on LinkedIn.
Focus on Quality: We may see fewer job listings, but those that are promoted will theoretically be more targeted and higher quality.
Exploring Alternatives: This change will likely encourage some recruitment firms to explore other platforms or methods for posting job openings. They may also choose to rely more heavily on their networks for candidate recommendations.
🔍 For Job Seekers: Enhanced Transparency: Job seekers can now expect more transparency, as promoted jobs will be front and center, ensuring that the opportunities you see are actively vetted and high quality.
Wider Search: It might be wise to diversify your job search beyond LinkedIn to make sure you’re capturing all possible opportunities. This also includes networking with recruitment firms and well-placed individuals in your industry.
If you have any questions or need guidance on how to navigate these changes, I’m here to help.
