Hector Delbono

Hector Delbono is a Civil Engineer with a Doctorate in Engineering specializing in materials. He has been serving as a Civil Engineer and exclusive researcher at the LEMaC: Center for Road Research UTN FRLP - CIC PBA since 2005.

He holds the position of Associate Professor in the Hydrology and Hydraulic Works department for the 4th year of the Civil Engineering course at UTN-FRLP and is the Vice Academic Director of the Master's Degree in Highway Engineering at UTN FRLP.

Hector is an advisor to the Secretary of Science and Technology at UTN-FRLP and has been a member of the Geosynthetics Subcommittee at IRAM since 2005.

He is also part of the IGS (International Geosynthetic Society) in Argentina and was a member of the IAAM (International Association of Advanced Materials) from 2016 to 2020. Hector is a categorized national researcher and a categorized Research Professor at UTN.

Specializing in the control and application of geosynthetic materials, he has contributed through books, publications in national and international journals, conferences, courses, and technology innovation services. Hector has co-directed R&D projects and supervised researchers, undergraduate and graduate thesis students, and research fellows.

He has experience coordinating and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses and excels in civil engineering, specifically in construction-oriented projects, roadworks project management, on-site testing, and quality control of asphalt, concrete, and soils.

Hector's expertise includes the characterization and control of Geosynthetic Materials, the design of structural packages and concrete structures, technical consultancy, and the delivery of training courses.

His educational background includes a Doctorate in Physics from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, Postgraduate studies in Polymer Materials at INIFTA Institute of Theoretical and Applied Physicochemical Research, Postgraduate studies in Fracture Mechanics at National University of the South, a Law Degree from Universidad Centro de Altos Estudios en Ciencias Exactas, and a Civil Engineering Degree with a Mathematics focus from Universidad Tecnológica Nacional.
