Hein Winckler is a seasoned professional with 30 years of public practice experience in tax advisory services. Currently serving as a Tax Partner in the British Columbia People Advisory Services Group, assisting global companies with cross-border business, tax, and people matters, Hein holds various professional designations and memberships.
He completed his education with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Stellenbosch, followed by an Honours degree in Accounting, and a further Honours degree in Taxation from the University of Cape Town. Hein has pursued continuous education in tax, including courses on GST Tax, In-Depth Tax, Corporate Reorganization, and has also been involved in tutoring for tax courses.
Throughout his career, Hein Winckler has held key positions at reputable firms such as Ernst & Young and PwC. Joining Ernst & Young LLP in Vancouver in July 2008, he has progressed to the role of Tax Partner. Prior to this, Hein had significant roles at PwC in both Vancouver and Western Cape, South Africa, where he demonstrated leadership as a Tax Manager and Senior Manager.
Apart from his professional commitments, Hein Winckler is actively involved in the community. He is a supporter of Canadian Blood Services with over 65 donations, and has served on the boards of the Kenneth Gordon Foundation and the Society for Children with Learning Disabilities. In his personal life, Hein enjoys spending time with his family and has a passion for activities like tennis, walking, running, travel, reading, and cycling.
