Helen Street is a prominent figure in education reform, known for co-creating the Positive Schools Initiative in 2007 with Neil Porter. Helen's academic background as a social psychologist has led her to delve into research on motivation and the social cognitive roots of depression. She introduced the theory of Conditional Goal Setting, shedding light on the connection between motivation misconceptions and long-term susceptibility to depression and anxiety. In 2017, she consolidated her contextual reform insights into the concept of 'contextual wellbeing', stressing the significance of school environments in social emotional learning. Helen holds the honorary title of associate professor at The University of Western Australia's Graduate School of Education and has actively contributed to various organizations, including advisory roles at the Health Department of WA's Centre for Clinical Interventions and the WA Association of Mental Health. She has also made frequent appearances in media and served as a show psychologist for Channel Ten's 'The Circle'.
