Henry Olson

Tenure track biology instructor at South Seattle College

Henry Olson is a Biochemistry professional with a strong academic background and diverse experience in research, teaching, and academic leadership.

Having earned a Bachelor of Science in Honors Biochemistry from The University of British Columbia in 2011, Henry later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry at the University of Washington, successfully defending his thesis in August 2016.

Post-graduation, Henry transitioned to teaching biological sciences at the Seattle College system while maintaining his role as a research scientist at the University of Washington.

With experience as a Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia, a Teaching Assistant, Doctoral Candidate, and later a Research Scientist at the University of Washington, Henry has a comprehensive understanding of academic research, teaching methodologies, and student mentorship.

Henry's commitment to academia is further evident through his involvement as the former Chair of the Finance and Budget Committee at GPSS, as a Contract Tutor at Varsity Tutors, and currently as a Tenure Track Faculty at South Seattle Community College.

His journey from Oregon to British Columbia and then to Washington exemplifies his dedication to advancing his expertise in Biochemistry and contributing to the academic community.
