Hesung Koh

Chairperson at East Rock Institute

Hesung Koh is an individual dedicated to bridging cultures, gender, and generation gaps through various means such as research, teaching, information system development, and authoring books.

She has a passion for developing curriculum aimed at teaching Korean culture and has a strong belief in serving overlooked populations like women, children, youth, senior citizens, and immigrants with a focus on values like virtue, skill, and role fulfillment.

Her educational background includes Post-Doctoral Studies and a NDEL Fellow grant in Chinese Studies, Classics, and conversational Chinese from Harvard University, as well as MA and Ph.D. studies in Sociology, Anthropology, and interdisciplinary studies of change from Boston University. Additionally, she pursued her studies in Chinese Studies at Georgetown University.

Hesung Koh has held significant roles in various organizations including being the Chairperson at the East Rock Institute, Director of Research and Development at the Human Relations Area Files at Yale, and Visiting Lecturer at both Yale University and Yale Law School.
