Bald is hiring for some exciting new roles. If you are a hungry, driven, aspiring talent (with a sharp sense of humor) - we want to hear from you.
Here's what we looking for:
💼 Accounts Director (US) with startup and big agency experience, mentor, coach, client whisperer, juggler of buckets full of balls.
🎨 Creative Director (US): conceptually brilliant, very strong leadership skills, with the ability to review, plan, elevate, guide, arrange, lead, and deliver stellar work across various teams and clients.
📽 Content Creator (US): lives to capture moments on camera, social is air, trend aware but counter-culture, able to do powerful storytelling through conceptualizing, shooting (video + stills), editing, and copywriting for social content.
🔜 Apply at www.bald.agency or DM if you're interested.
Be nice!
- That's the hook.
- The hack.
- The wisdom for the day.
Just be nice!
🤙 In a discovery call with a new potential agency partner...
Be nice!
So much of creative work is chemistry, and it's usually cemented within the first 10 minutes.
⚽ When you see things differently from your team members...
Be nice!
We all think, communicate, and work in different ways and come from different lived experiences.
😰 When your agency screws up?
Be nice!
If they're worth their salt, they'll do everything in their power to fix it and get it right.
🏆 When your agency does incredible work?
Be nice!
Compliment them. Tell them why the work was great. Boost their superpowers with feedback. There is no greater high than crushing a pitch or presentation or exceeding a client's expectations with a project.
Nice has gotten a bad rap:
- It's become the blandest of words
- With the pace and demands of work today, it's become harder to achieve.
- Even worse, some leaders who are never nice achieve great results (think Steve Jobs) leading to a causation fallacy.
Nice does not mean: ❌ Be a doormat ❌ Accept shoddy work ❌Toxic positivity
Nice means: ✅ Managing the energy ✅ Assuming positive intent ✅ Being kind (but don't mistake kindness for weakness) ✅ Not making things so personal ✅ Smiling or just making people laugh ✅ Showing gratitude
💪 You can be nice... and still have the highest standards. 💪 You can be nice... and have difficult conversations. 💪 You can be nice... and grow a successful company. 💪 You can be nice... and navigate difficult issues.
Is this so against the grain?
The world is changing (and so are expectations from our work relationships). I'm seeing a new generation of employees who are looking for more than the type of cultures I grew my career in.
So I am reminding myself: 😀 Be nice 😀 Seek nice 😀 Push nice
Have a nice day!
