“DHL goes further…. with Shell eDepot solutions!”
DHL is electrifying its fleets, also in Asia by teaming up with Shell. @Julian Neo, Managing Director at DHL Express Malaysia, shares how DHL’s collaboration with Shell has helped it on its way to fleet decarbonisation.
In Malaysia, DHL Express has around 350 last-mile delivery vehicles. Decarbonising their fleet, whilst keeping an excellent driver experience, is a top priority. Teaming up with Shell through the ‘Accelerate to Zero’ programme and custom EV Charging solutions, DHL is on their way to electrifying their fleet and achieving their net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
We are excited to continue our 40+ year collaboration with DHL to help them achieve their goals. 🌎🤝
Shell yesterday officially launched its first innovative demonstration of our dual-purpose Megawatt Charging System [MCS] Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam. The charging system is designed to provide fast, flexible on-the-go charging for heavy-duty road transport vehicles AND electric marine vessels. Whilst e-trucks and e-vessels that can handle powerful MCS charging are still rare, this demonstration is a positive step in setting the standard for high-power charging networks across Europe, removing a barrier for the introduction of MCS ready vehicles. The megawatt charger allows electric trucks to recharge quickly during long-haul trips, minimizing downtime and enabling long-distance travel without delay. This innovation stands out because it is integrated into the complex urban environment of Amsterdam, not at a remote test centre. While this is a demonstration project, it is ready now for use by appointment, providing a unique real-world testing opportunity. This site demonstrates the power of innovation and collaboration, and excitement was palpable at today’s launch event. Thank you to Royal Den Hartogh Logistics and Contargo for bringing trucks and to KOTUG International and PKW for bringing vessels to the demonstration.
