Hiwot Emma Ameneshoa is the Head of Youth Support and Participation, specializing in the design, development, and mobilization of inclusive youth programmes.2 She works with professionals, parents, carers, and young people to build resilience and improve mental wellbeing in individuals and communities.1

As the Mental Wellbeing and Resilience Manager for Children's Mental Health, Hiwot oversees a team of Practitioners who support Newham's young people through the Your Time programme and other resilience-building activities.1 She has been conducting training sessions for professionals and young people on mental health and wellbeing for the past four years.1

Hiwot is passionate about helping young people overcome adversity and reach their potential. She believes in the importance of professionals working together to increase access to services and support for Newham's youth.1 Through her involvement in the Social Welfare Alliance programme, Hiwot aims to create safe spaces for attendees to think creatively, become more informed, and feel empowered to have conversations about mental health in their day-to-day roles.1
