Hopeton Hay

Hopeton Hay is the Executive Director of the Office of Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Programs at the University of Texas System.13 He has held this position since 2012.3 In his role, Hay is responsible for managing HUB opportunities and compliance on over $7.5 billion of major capital projects across various campuses in the state.3

Hay's department provides technical assistance and training to prospective and certified HUB vendors seeking business with the University of Texas System.2 The U.T. System is a large state purchaser, with a budget of $11.9 billion in 2008-2009 and nearly $1 billion in products and services purchased from HUB vendors.2

Hay is recognized for his efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion in business. He was recently honored with the 2024 Minority Business Development Agency Distinguished Supplier Diversity Champion of the Year Award for the El Paso region.3
