Damn! Just had a huge answer to a question from John Cutler and I somehow clicked on the wrong button before sharing and lost the draft...
Sorry John... Maybe next time :P
Thought for the day: Science Fiction writers imagining the evolution of AI
Option 1: Humans reach a new level of evolution where AI becomes an integral part of their lives through a symbiotic relationship that takes us to new heights and unlocks new realms for us as a species.
Option 2: Machines evolve beyond our control and identify us as the biggest problem with world, thus working to eradicate the humans in an attempt to build a utopian and balanced world
REALITY:
- Catfishing reaches new heights and we have no idea if the people we see online really exist.
- Creativity and expressiveness of humans is taken over by machine and we are left with the mundane tasks that machines should be doing.
- We find new ways to lie, cheat and fool others. Reality becomes a construct
At the end of the the day, the reality to me seems worse than anything we could have imagined. It's evolving the worst parts and it's taking away the best parts... um... really?
