Ian Chambers is a research scientist with a focus on understanding the fundamental aspects of stem cell identity. His expertise lies in areas such as embryonic stem cell biology, epiblast stem cell biology, transcription factor function, single cell analysis, and protein-protein interactions. Apart from his research, Ian actively engages in outreach and public communication to convey the importance and excitement of scientific discoveries.

Ian's academic journey includes earning a Ph.D. in Molecular Pathology from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Glasgow, where he conducted his research at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research. He also holds a B.Sc. with 1st Class Honours in Biochemistry from the University of Strathclyde.

Throughout his career, Ian Chambers has held prominent positions in reputable organizations. He has previously served as a Professor of Pluripotent Stem Cell Biology and a Group Leader at the Institute for Stem Cell Research within the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to these roles, Ian gained valuable experience as a Post-doctoral Fellow at Stanford University and as a Ph.D. Student at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research.
