Highlights
Ever since the pandemic rolled around, I’ve been reskilling for manufacturing at Humber College’s Electromechanical Engineering Technology program – one that was recommended to me by my dad, who’s an industry veteran. I’ll never forget walking into a Costco during the early days of the pandemic, seeing many people stockpiling drinks, and having an epiphany that I’ve been overlooking such a core industry since my dad had worked in it most of his life – whether it was beer, milk, or soft drinks, he was the guy making the machinery work in those plants. In any case, I wrap up the program this week and just wanted to share the capstone project that I worked on where I managed the PLC programming, HMI programming, and Robot programming. I cannot fathom how these programs were undersold during my high school years. I had to put in an IB-level work ethic for the last two years of the three-year program. The first link here is the Capstone Overview where I give a walkthrough on the overall project (yes, I know there are some typos – it was a rush to put it together on time). https://lnkd.in/gkRjRxbr The second link is the Capstone Demo, walking through 5 use cases of the project. https://lnkd.in/gHARu6Mg
Slides from the presentation I gave at Sheridan (Brampton campus) a few hours ago (honestly, it was harder to write up these slides than to power through 22pgs of raw text):
