Ian Higham

Dr. Ian Higham is a political scientist known for his expertise in global governance, international political economy, and human rights with a focus on business & human rights issues.

Ian combines academic and professional experience to offer valuable insights into differing stakeholder perspectives and excels in project management.

In May 2021, Ian successfully defended his doctoral dissertation which explores early adopters of policy innovations, particularly in human rights regulations for corporations through National Action Plans.

He is proficient in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, employing a mixed methods design that includes inferential statistics and comparative case studies with elite interviews.

Ian conducted fieldwork in several countries and presented his research findings at numerous major international conferences.

Outside academia, Ian has practical experience in policy work as a Senior Consultant at Crimson Clarke, advising on engaging international stakeholders and influencing policy outcomes.

He also contributes political and foreign policy analysis for diplomatic subscribers at Mundus International and previously worked as an ESG research analyst focusing on human rights impacts and ethical banking policies.

Currently, Ian serves as an Assistant Professor at Stockholm University and has previously held teaching and editorial positions at DIS - Study Abroad and Mundus International, respectively.
