Ian Norton is a highly skilled Specialist Emergency Physician with extensive experience in global health emergencies and disaster response.

With post-graduate qualifications in Surgery, International Health, and Tropical Medicine, Ian's expertise is well-recognized in the medical field.

Ian spent six years leading the World Health Organization's Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Initiative in HQ Geneva where he played a pivotal role in coordinating the deployment of medical teams in over 130 countries during emergencies and disease outbreaks.

As the lead author of the WHO Global Classification and Standards for EMT deployments, Ian has significantly contributed to the enhancement of emergency response capabilities worldwide.

In 2020, Ian leveraged his experience and knowledge to establish Respond Global, a social enterprise committed to assisting public and private organizations in effectively planning and responding to global health crises.

Ian's educational background includes a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine Residency, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from University College Dublin, and Diplomas in International Health and Tropical Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Throughout his career, Ian has held key positions such as Founder & Managing Director at Respond Global, Emergency Medicine Physician at Noosa Hospital, and Head of Emergency Medical Team at the World Health Organization, among others.

Ian's dedication to improving emergency medical services and disaster preparedness is evident through his various roles in renowned healthcare institutions globally.
