Reflections on the Transition to Kibbutz Hatzerim After an incredibly intense week, I wanted to share some thoughts and insights. We've just completed the move for most of the Be'eri families with children in the education system to a new neighborhood in Kibbutz Hatzerim. This transition, amidst the challenges of relocating to a place still under construction, has truly underscored the strength of partnership and community support. In the face of the tragic circumstances, we've witnessed extraordinary compassion and unity within Israeli society, among the Jewish people, and from our Christian friends. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who has contributed: The people of Kibbutz Hatzerim for welcoming us so warmly into their homes and hearts. Dozens of groups, communities, companies, organizations, and individuals who have reached out in countless ways to assist. Soldiers, pre-military academy students, national service volunteers, and yeshiva students who helped with packing, cleaning, and even ensuring the safety of our new site. The civilian crisis management team for setting up welcoming kindergartens for our children. Volunteers from the Northern Front, Unit 73 fighters, and many others who left their jobs to organize an eight-day operation with a fleet of trucks to transport each family's belongings. Dozens of volunteers, led by Yahalom's unit, who assembled furniture, cleaned homes, repaired bicycles, and did everything possible to ease our transition. And the resilient people of Be'eri, who, despite facing immense hardship, chose to support families arriving for the start of the school year by donating their new homes and furniture to those whose homes are still not ready. This experience has shown us that rehabilitation goes beyond rebuilding structures; it's about the spirit and hope we find in the kindness of others. These are the sources of strength that will guide us as we continue to rebuild Kibbutz Be'eri, even as we mourn our losses and await the return of our loved ones from captivity in Gaza. Thank you all for your ongoing support. Together, we will continue to build and grow. I, along with the entire Kibbutz Be'eri delegation, am overwhelmed and honored to have participated in the Israeli Day Parade yesterday in NYC. Marching through the streets surrounded by Israeli flags felt as close as I’ll ever come to carrying the Olympic torch. A dream. This dream shattered quickly as in our hands, we held the signs of our family and friends still being held in Gaza. The juxtaposition of emotions felt paralyzing. Yet - the cheering crowds, thousands of Israel supporters, and immense love helped us continue marching, and we all feel so grateful to have participated. Thank you to Jewish Community Relations Council of New York & UJA-Federation of New York for making it all possible. Our trip has just begun, and we have already met countless individuals who have opened their homes and promised their continued support. Specifically, thank you Joshua Trump, Julia Haart, Harley Lippman, Daniel Rosen, UJA and Jewish National Fund - USA community members, and so many more. The delegation looks forward to our upcoming week, which will be full of scheduled meetings and events across the Northeast. We are honored and grateful to be here.
