Ignas Jonynas

Ignas Jonynas is an accomplished professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in various high-level positions within the European Commission, OSCE, and other organizations.

He holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Regional Studies from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, a Master of Laws (LLM) in Comparative Constitutional Law from Central European University, and a Master's degree in Law with a specialization in International Law from Vilniaus Universitetas.

Ignas Jonynas has served as the Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission and played key roles such as Head of Commission Central EUCI Registry, Analyst at the European Political Strategy Centre (EPSC), Policy Officer for EU Civil Protection Strategy and Solidarity Clause, and Member of Cabinet of Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva.

His experience also includes roles such as Policy Assistant to Director, Policy Officer for Humanitarian Aid, Liaison/Policy Officer for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection, and Policy Officer for Disaster Management within the European Commission.

Prior to his roles at the European Commission, Ignas Jonynas worked as a Legal Officer at the OSCE Mission to Croatia and as a Human Rights Legal Advisor at the OSCE Mission to Kosovo. He also gained valuable experience as an Assistant Attorney at a legal bar in Lithuania.

Additionally, he has interned at the CBSS Commissioner's office at the Council of the Baltic Sea States and at the Directorate General of Human Rights (DG II) at the Council of Europe. His professional background also includes serving as a Legal Officer at the Office of the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Chief Officer at the European Committee/government of Lithuania, and Manager at Sklandunas Ltd.

Ignas Jonynas' expertise spans across various fields, including policy development, humanitarian aid, civil protection, disaster management, human rights, and international law.
