Ilie Mitaru is an Emmy-nominated photographer and director with a diverse portfolio showcased in top publications like the New York Times, CNN, The Guardian, Vice News, NBC, and PBS.

He holds a Masters in Journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and was a recipient of the prestigious Tow Knight Fellowship in Entrepreneurial Journalism in 2013.

Currently an adjunct professor at CUNY, Ilie is actively involved in mentoring initiatives like ReelWorks, aiming to provide film education opportunities to marginalized communities in New York City.

His educational background includes studies at the University of Oregon, where he pursued a BA in International Studies & Political Science.
