Implementation Trustee for Open Banking; FinTech adviser, investor and entrepreneur

Imran Gulamhuseinwala is the Implementation Trustee for Open Banking Ltd, appointed by the Competition and Markets Authority in April 2017. In this role, he leads the Open Banking Implementation Entity, overseeing the implementation of a standard Open Banking API by the UK's 9 largest banks to meet obligations under PSD2 and the CMA's retail banking Order.

Before his current position, Imran served as the Global Head of FinTech at EY for five years, providing strategic advisory services to FinTechs, corporate clients, and private equity investors on various operational, capital raising, and deal-related matters. With 16 years of experience in the financial services sector, Imran brings a diverse background as an advisor, investor, and entrepreneur in the FinTech space.

His previous roles include providing strategic advice at Oliver Wyman for 8 years, investing in the financial services sector with Bridgepoint Capital and Resolution (where he led the M&A team) for a combined 16 years, and founding the FinTech 50 startup, CommuterClub. Imran holds a Masters in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and is a CFA charter holder.
