Highlights
5 tips to overcome back to work stress:
- Start your day with lemon water. The vitamin C in lemons helps minimize the effects of cortisol (stress hormone) in the body. Combined with water it can help you stay relaxed, hydrated and energetic throughout the day.
- Get some sunlight and daylight exposure to support your circadian rythms, keeping you energised
- Take 1 min exercise breaks every 30 minutes. Try to do some squads or jumps when WFH or stand on your toes at your stand desk when in the office
- Go outside for your lunch break. Research shows that compounds in trees exhibit therapeutic effects.
- Still stressed? Listen to some music, focus on your breathing for 1 minute or trick your mind in being relaxed by eating some gum ;-)

The start of a new journey as integrative health coach. Helping people to become more energised, healthier, happier - balanced. Both exciting and a bit scary...
My ‘ikigai’ (the art of living) is to learn more about habits, food, exercise and social factors that promote health and longevity and to help others with their body and brain balance. Many people are stressed and they do not know how to turn off their stress response. This can lead to all kinds of symptoms, such as auto-immune diseases (especially in women), burn-out, depression and accelerated aging of our body and brain.
The funny thing is, that I still see this as comms - but in this case the communication within the body and brain -> how do neurotransmitters, hormones, thoughts and external factors communicate? And sometimes, just as in other comms, messages get lost, misinterpreted or there are just too many messages. Please read more at my website www.bodyandbrainbalance.nl or follow me on social media Body and Brain Balance coach if you are interested :-)
Venturing this new path also means that I am leaving Shell after 10 years. I have truly enjoyed these years, especially because of the many wonderful colleagues I have worked with. THANK YOU for that and for the precious memories and lessons.
