Isaac Carothers

Director- Safer Demand Skilled Collaborative at Safer Foundation

Isaac "Ike" Carothers, a compassionate and visionary leader, is a dedicated former public servant advocating for the west side community in Chicago. A native Chicagoan, he attended public elementary school and graduated from De LaSalle High School. Carothers earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from DePaul University and a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Chicago State University.

Having served in the Chicago City Council for 11 years, Carothers held key positions such as Chairman of the Committee on Police and Fire, Executive Vice-Chair of the Cook-County Democratic Party, Vice-Chairman of the Chicago City Council Black Caucus, and Vice-Chairman of the Committee on License and Consumer Protection. He is a family man with a wife, Sharron, and two sons, Sherman and Matthew.

Currently, Carothers is the Director of Safer Demand Skilled Collaborative at Safer Foundation, having previously worked as an Account Executive II, Alderman, Deputy Commissioner, and Superintendent of Water Collections at the City of Chicago.
