It is my birthday today, and I had the lovely surprise of receiving a certificate for winning #alzheimerssociety Fountain of Knowledge award. I am very grateful to all the teams at the Society which I work with, but also to the many people affected by dementia who have the courage to talk about their first hand experience. They are incredibly inspiring and I am privileged to speak with them.

This is really worth remembering. I know picking up the phone feels odd since text, email and all the other forms of communication came in. But apart from face to face it is the most effective form of meaningful communication. Text and email are brilliant for different people and different amounts of information. But a phone call means so much more
