Jacob Kvasnicka

PhD Candidate at University of Toronto

Jacob Kvasnicka is a Ph.D. candidate with a robust nine-year background in applied research at the intersection of environmental science, engineering, and public health.

His core focus lies in the development and application of mathematical and statistical models to assess human exposure to chemical and microbial contaminants, along with related health risks, showcasing expertise in mass balance modeling, contaminant fate and transport modeling, exposure assessment, and probabilistic human health risk assessment.

His research interests particularly gravitate towards indoor air quality and the utilization of scientific computing for data analysis in Python and R.

Jacob completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Earth Sciences from the University of Toronto, a Master of Science in Environmental Health Sciences (Public Health) from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Wheaton College.

Currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto, he has previously served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and held positions as a Health Scientist Intern at Cardno ChemRisk.
