Professional Background
Jacqueline Carter is a dynamic leader and advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, holding a pivotal role in DiversityComm, Inc. (DCI), a Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) Certified Woman-Owned Enterprise. DCI is renowned for its commitment to promoting diversity through its suite of four national diversity publications: Black EOE Journal, Hispanic Network Magazine, Professional Woman’s Magazine, and the U.S. Veterans Magazine. With over 22 years of dedicated experience in advancing diversity, Jacqueline has been instrumental in developing strategies and initiatives that foster equal employment opportunities across Corporate America.
In her capacity at DiversityComm, Jacqueline has positively impacted countless organizations by participating in over 200 diversity career fairs, conventions, and conferences each year. She ensures that companies can effectively reach minority audiences and showcase their commitment to diversity with well-placed advertising across all DCI publications. Her passion for enhancing workplace diversity is complemented by her extensive background in various roles that further solidify her expertise in public relations, human resources, and sales.
Education and Achievements
Jacqueline obtained her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Public Relations/Image Management from California State University, Fullerton. Additionally, she earned two Associate of Science (A.S.) degrees in Math and Science from Santa Ana College and Riverside Community College, respectively. Her educational background has provided her with a solid foundation in communication, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, essential for her success in diversity advocacy.
Throughout her career, she has held several significant positions that have allowed her to hone her skills and contribute to diversity initiatives within various organizations. Her past roles include serving as an Executive Assistant at the Black EOE Journal, Hispanic Network Magazine, Professional WOMAN'S Magazine, U.S. Veterans Magazine, DIVERSEability Magazine, and Diversity in STEAM Magazine. In addition, Jacqueline has experience as a Human Resource Manager at Sharpline, where she further cultivated her expertise in recruitment and compliance.
Achievements
Jacqueline's commitment to diversity and inclusion is demonstrated through her involvement in several key initiatives and successes in her career. Under her leadership at DCI, the organization has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing diversity publications, establishing itself as a vital resource for companies striving to build more inclusive workplaces. Her initiatives focus on Global Diversity & Inclusion, Diversity Branding, and Employment Opportunities, among others, which aim to create a more equitable environment for all individuals, regardless of their background.
In addition to her work at DCI, Jacqueline has honed her skills as a sales representative at H and M and as a waitress at Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery in Palm Desert, CA. These experiences have equipped her with invaluable customer-facing skills that contribute to her effective communication and networking abilities in the business world.
