Highlights
"I have been doing this all wrong all along." I had the privilege of listening to the wisdom of • Richard Bliss as part of NetApp’s excellent Sales New Hire Programme, and it has been an unexpected eye-opener. Little did I know that my posts only reach 10% of my connections. I was surprised to learn that external links or even videos within my posts reduce the reach even more. I might make the author of a post happy by increasing the “Like” count of their post, but I am not actually increasing the breadth and depth of my outreach by being busy clicking the “Like” button only. At this point, most organisations expect their sales teams to use social selling methods to connect and build relationships with potential prospects. When reposted company content—high-end in content and design—does not reach the intended audience due to limited knowledge of how the LinkedIn algorithm works, efforts are wasted. Social selling training needs to go beyond teaching social media guidelines and how to use the LinkedIn Navigator service. Do you agree? Share your hacks and tricks on how to use LinkedIn effectively by commenting below. I am eager to learn more.

I am delighted to share that I have joined NetApp as Field Sales Excellence Program Manager. This is an exciting new chapter for me, as I am not just joining a forward-thinking technology leader with cultural values close to my heart. This role is an opportunity to leverage my experience but, more importantly, to embrace new challenges and grow personally while contributing to the shared goal of empowering the sales organisation in EMEA & LATAM. I would like to thank Gavin Moore and his team for the warm welcome and for bringing me on this journey. Here’s to new beginnings and making great things happen together!
