Dr. Jacquelyn Thayer Scott, O.C., Ph.D., is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in academia, policy analysis, and organizational management.

As the President Emerita of Cape Breton University and retired Professor, Dr. Scott has been actively involved in various organizations and councils, contributing significantly to the fields of science, technology, and innovation.

She has served in key roles such as Deputy Chair of the Prime Minister's Advisory Council on Science and Technology and as Chair of the International Expert Panel Review of the Alberta Science & Research Authority.

Dr. Scott's expertise lies in community and higher education capacity-building, policy analysis, organizational design, and board development.

With a Ph.D. in Public Administration focusing on NPO Management, she also holds honors and awards recognizing her contributions to literacy, public administration, and international development.

She is currently involved in various boards including HIPPY Canada, Yorkville University, and the MacDonald-Laurier Institute, showcasing her commitment to continuous engagement in education and public policy.
